Kevin's Turn
After breakfast Daddy, Ania and I went to Nakuru. This was not a normal Monday activity, but we had to get some things that couldn't wait until Saturday. Mama, Philip and Lucia stayed home because Daddy said he was "hunting" today for certain things, not shopping.
First we went to a cyber cafe. Daddy spent two hours e-mailing people. It cost him 244 shillings! Ania and I got to play games on Daddy's pocket PC during this time. When Daddy was done, we started searching for a video cable. We walked to three different stores, each one about two miles away from the other. We finally found what we were looking for at the third store. Now we can produce a slide show for Sacred Heart and they will be able to watch it on their t.v.
Then we went to the Sweet Shoppe, our favorite place for lunch on our Saturday trips to Nakuru, so we could see how much a birthday cake would cost for Ania. It was too expensive, so we didn't get one. Daddy bought a chocolate covered orange donut for Ania and me to split, and an apple pie pocket for himself.
The hunting continued.
We went to Gilani's and bought seven bags of bubble gum, two bags of hard candy and three bags of taffy to fill Ania's pinata. We also got dish soap for Mama.
When we got back to the school, it was raining so hard that our matatu driver brought us all the way to the door of the school. That was nice! The electricity was off, so we had to use our flashlights, but now it has come back on. I want to eat popcorn, but we don't have any.
Fr. Ted called today and talked to Mama on the phone. He will be here in two days. Hooray!!!
Thank you, Jesus, for another fun but exhausting day. Amina.
